You can even reach the idyllic climatic health resort Schwabstedt by boat via the Treene. St. Peter-Ording as well as the North Sea islands and Halligen invite you to swim and mudflat hikes on the longest sandy beaches of the German North Sea coast. Tönning attracts with its old port and the Multimar Wattforum. The Baltic Sea side with Eckernförde, Kappeln and Glücksburg is also quickly reached. Flensburg and Denmark are not far away in the north.

In the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site, there are of course also many islands (Pellworm, Amrum, Föhr and Sylt) as well as Halligen (e.g. Hooge, Nordstrandischmoor and Langeneß) and a little further out, Germany's only offshore island of Heligoland can be discovered. The boat tours are all offered as day tours. Many boat tours start in Nordstrand, Dagebüll or Büsum, which can be easily reached from Friedrichstadt. The largest provider is the shipping company Adler-Schiffe. If you don't want to travel with an excursion ship, take the ferry from Dagebüll, so you can extend your stay on the island ;-)
